Design Background

Ei8ht divides opinion on design. There are those that say it looks like something viewed under a microscope, but when you know where the motivation comes from it takes on a different perspective.

The numerical 8 sits in the middle of the word, all our other balls start with the number.

Why?

Our subject inspiration sat in the middle of the field - Iniesta.

The distorted circle is his heat map from the 2O11 Champions League final, sitting a large map on top of a smaller one depicts the number 8.

Filling the spare panels with a graphic to honour his trademark ‘La Croqueta’ move finishes the design.

The colourway represents his club, Barcelona.

Description

Ei8ht possesses the qualities of a match-ball at a training ball price.

Hybrid technology is at the forefront of modern football design. Ei8ht sees the micro machine stitched seams glued and thermally bonded to offer almost total water resistance.

The outer casing is made of Korean PU, the industry best, complemented with 4.5mm of EVA Foam in two layers.

At half the price of it’s nearest competitor this ball is designed specifically with grassroots clubs in mind, reducing costs significantly.
